Special Course English Refresher B2

Target group/prior knowledge:

For participants who are already at B2 level and want to refresh and deepen their knowledge and develop their fluency in a targeted manner. After completing the course, participants will be very well prepared to continue learning their target language in a C1 Phase 1 course. This course is also suitable for ERASMUS outgoing students who want to specifically strengthen their language skills before going abroad. The course supports students in mastering their studies and everyday life in their host country with greater linguistic confidence.

Contents:

You will work intensively with authentic texts from the media, literature and specialist areas to sharpen your listening and reading comprehension. You will actively participate in discussions about studies, careers and cultural topics. You will also develop the ability to write complex texts such as reports or arguments in a precise and structured manner.
Additionally, you will deepen your knowledge of grammar and expand your vocabulary. Regional and cultural topics round off the course and enable you to apply what you have learned in a practical way

Methods:

To implement this content, you will use current materials, including texts, audio and video formats. Through project work and discussion groups, you will actively apply what you have learned and deepen your knowledge. There is a particular focus on active language production, enabling you to continuously improve your ability to express yourself.

At the end of the course, participants can receive a graded certificate subject to a minimum of 75% course attendance and passing grades in all four language skills (listening, reading, speaking and writing). The ultimate decision regarding recognition (or non-recognition) of ECTS points (credits) lies with your university’s or institutes’ Study Program Administration [Studienprogrammleitung].
