Placement Test

Thorough placement tests carried out on the first day of the course ensure participants’ allocation to the appropriate course levels. These placement tests are compulsory for new clients.

The tests last approximately 30 minutes and consist of an oral and a written part. We will inform you about your level directly after the test.

You are not obliged to take the test if you are a beginner of the A1/1 level, if you have previously attended German courses at the Language Center, or if you can produce an ÖSD or Goethe certificate.

Course Certificate

The minimum requirements for the issuance of a course certificate are as following:

  • minimum 75% attendance of the total course duration
  • and participance in the final examination.

You will receive your certificate on the last day of the course.

All our certificates from level B2/2 and above substitute the supplementary German examination [Ergänzungsprüfung Deutsch (EPD)] for non-degree program students of the University Preparation Programmes [Vorstudienlehrgang (VWU)].

In case of non-participation in the final exam or non-passing grades, ECTS points cannot be granted. Nevertheless participants who fullfill the minimum attendance of 75% can receive a confirmation of participation sheet from the Office of the Language Center.

Passing marks in the final examination result in the granting of 4 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) points. The relevant Study Program Administration or university has the ultimate decision regarding recognition of our certificates.
