Where I am from: I was born in Karelia, Russia, but have since lived in Joensuu, Finland.
My language skills: Karelian, Finnish, Russian and English.
My educational background: I studied Karelian and Finnish at the University of Petrozavodsk from 2005 to 2010, and then did my Master's degree in Finnish at the University of Eastern Finland from 2010 to 2014. I received my PhD from the same university in 2021. In my PhD thesis, I studied language contacts and variations between Karelian and Finnish.
My professional background: since 2011 I have been working on various research projects at the University of Eastern Finland. I have also worked as a language teacher.
