PE Grants and Funding Applications – Writing Proposals in English (B2-C
22.05.2020 - 26.06.2020
Freitags, 09:00 - 11:30
The European framework for 2014-2020 provides many possibilities to engage in transnational cooperation in fields such as education, justice, and scientific research. However, the process of obtaining such funding is getting more and more difficult and is extremely competitive. A well-written and persuasive application can make all the difference.
This course covers important language relating to EU funding calls and priorities in English, and helps participants to craft effective funding applications. You will learn how interpret European funding priorities, describe project rationale and needs analyses, and discuss project objectives, deliverables and intended impacts. You will also learn to use the language of project management, including budgets and risk assessments.
The course lecturer, Paul Talbot, has several years’ experience writing grant applications as well as managing and evaluating EU projects in the education and justice fields. He completed his Master’s thesis on the topic of European project management, and has previously designed training for staff of the Erasmus+ National Agency in Finland, CIMO, on promoting sustainable impacts in European-funded projects.
This course is for anyone involved in writing, developing and managing European-funded projects. You must have at least a B2 level of English.
Handouts will be available summarising the language of the major European funding programmes. Examples of successful project applications will also be made available for reference.
This is an interactive writing course, and it would be helpful if you could bring laptops or tablets with you to all sessions.
Relevant handouts will be provided by the trainer.
