This course is aimed at everyone seeking to improve their English skills with a special focus on grammar.
People who feel that their English is “a bit rusty”. People who understand a lot but are afraid of speaking and making mistakes. Participants should have a reasonable command of spoken English (B1 – B2).
The aim of this course is a structured approach to activating and improving your English language skills with a special focus on grammar. Via theoretical exercises our first goal is to consolidate existing knowledge, further expand it, and put theory into practice.
Using grammar exercises, but also contemporary texts and material we will focus on a variety of subjects, ultimately determined by participants’ needs and interests: use of the English tenses in spoken and written English, collocations, idioms, false friends, word order, etc.
The emphasis will be on grammar. Thus, the course will involve a number of theoretical (grammar) exercises as well as a variety of role-play and practice exercises. Self-study opportunities will be suggested. The working language of this course will be English.
3 ECTS credits will be awarded on this course upon the successful completion of reading, writing, speaking and listening examination tasks in which students demonstrate appropriate grammatical range and control.
Course materials will be supplied depending on participants’ interests.
