Interessen:
I have a bachelor's degree in Ecology/Environmental Science, so I am very interested in the natural world, especially birds, reptiles, and amphibians. I also enjoy nature photography, music, puzzles, and reading. I also recently discovered that I enjoy dancing. I love traveling and learning about other languages and cultures, and always enjoy learning something new, especially from people who are very passionate or knowledgeable about a subject. I am originally from the United States, and am happy to talk about my experience there and talk about cultural differences if you're interested.

I did an exchange semester in Freiburg im Breisgau, but that was a few years ago and now that I am living in Austria, I would like to improve my German again.

Ich möchte vor allem folgende Bereiche verbessern:
I would like to focus on improving my speaking and grammar, as well as improving my vocabulary. I want to improve my confidence and comfort with speaking German, and am especially looking for a native speaker to practice with. I am around a B1 level in German.

Sonstiges:
I live outside of Vienna, but am happy to meet in the city for a walk around a park or in a cafe, bookstore, museum, or anywhere else of interest as well as online if a face to face meeting is not possible.

Hello! I am an international student from the United States, and my biggest goals this year are to learn Vienna better and to meet locals - in addition to improving my German of course. As a math student, I spend a lot of time doing and thinking about math, which is my main passion, but in general I love learning new things. I think linguistics, for example, is fascinating.

I also like to run, read, watch movies and TV shows, cook, bake, and am very creative. The people I've met so far in Vienna have had many questions about the US, so it's fun as well to talk about life there while comparing it to other cultures. I enjoy environments like coffee shops, book shops, stores, parks, etc., places where you can have good conversation and/or get outside. That said, I will pretty much try anything, and I would consider myself very friendly - you should feel free to ask me about anything too!

I have been learning German for a while, and it's fun to learn, a great intellectual endeavor, and deeply tied to the culture of a place. The next step to achieve full fluency is to get a lot of practice with native speakers, which has been hard in the United States.

Ich möchte vor allem folgende Bereiche verbessern:
There's always room for improvement with all skills, but for me and for this program I would particularly like to focus on speaking and listening.

Sonstiges:
I have tutored mathematics for a while, and I would consider myself a good teacher. I think helping someone learn English is a new, great opportunity!
