Requirements:

this course would be suitable for you if you have successfully completed B2 Phase 1 and B2 Phase 2 courses. For further details, please consult the respective course descriptions.


Content and method:

You will use communicative and interactive methods to talk about the following topics, including, among others, dreams, hopes and reality, modernity and ancient civilizations, human emotions and theatre.
You will review and practice such grammar topics as conditional structures and modals relating to wishes and regrets, phrasal verbs, gerund and infinitives and relative clauses. You will learn to compare and contrast dreams and reality, discuss life experiences, write letters and proposals and use language related to human emotions. Speaking skills will be practiced and assessed using a short oral presentation, group discussions and/or role-playing exercises.
Upon successful completion of the course, you will be prepared extensively to pursue C1-level courses for advanced English proficiency and be able to conduct oral and written discussions on complex social, economic and human development issues.


At the end of the course, participants can receive a graded certificate subject to a minimum of 75% course attendance and passing grades in all four language skills (listening, reading, speaking and writing). The ultimate decision regarding recognition (or non-recognition) of ECTS points (credits) lies with your university’s or institutes’ Study Program Administration [Studienprogrammleitung].
