The Language Center of the University of Vienna initiates national and international practice-oriented projects in the field of language teaching and didactics and cooperates with partners to further develop teaching and teaching materials. Participation and involvement as integral components of second language courses. Learn about best practice examples in Europe.
In the project Participation as an integral part of second language courses. Best Practice Examples in Europe. teachers of the Language Center get to know new teaching methods and materials and learn at language schools in Sweden, Finland and Germany how social, cultural and political participation can be promoted in the best possible way in the context of language courses.

Internship/Job Shadowing
In the course of an internship at the Language Center, students of the University of Vienna observe individual lessons and discuss these lessons afterwards with teachers of the Language Center.

The Language Center is a member of the following associations
- Verband universitärer Sprachenzentren und -institutionen (VUS)
The key to a modern language society lies in a holistic and overarching understanding of languages, which includes the promotion of plurality and multilingualism on several levels. The Association of University Language Centers and Institutions (VUS) focuses on central activities in the areas of language teaching, language didactics, language teaching and learning research, language documentation and language policy. The ambitious but realistic goal is to bundle these dynamic activities through the association, to strengthen initiatives and to use synergies and know-how.

As instiution, the Language Center of the University of Vienna is a member of the association, and the Executive Director Nicola Kraml is a member of the scientific advisory board.
- Österreichischer Verband für Deutsch als Fremd*Zweitsprache (ÖDaF)
In general, a membership of the ÖDaF is not open for individual institutions but for individuals.
The managing directors of the Language Center and a number of teachers are members of the association.
