Target group/prior knowledge:
This refresher course is aimed at newcomers to the language, e.g. those who have recently graduated in this language or have already had a good command of the language but are no longer practising. The course is also a continuation of an A2 - B1 level. In the refresher course, previously acquired language skills will be repeated and consolidated so that participants can cope with various communication situations. Special emphasis will be placed on speaking and grammar in this course.

Contents:
Listening and reading comprehension form the starting point of the work. You will learn to take part in conversations relating to topics such as studies, work, professional life and current events. You will learn to write coherent texts, e.g. letters and articles. Your knowledge of grammar and vocabulary will be reactivated, expanded and deepened. Your personal areas of interest will be given sufficient space. Authentic listening and reading texts will familiarise you with the linguistic reality and aspects of the country.
Methods:
All new content will be learnt and practised in the context of real-life situations. Communication and interaction take centre stage and are encouraged and guided in a variety of ways. You will work in groups, hold discussions and write. You will try out learning strategies that will enable you to continue learning independently.

At the end of the course, participants can receive a graded certificate subject to a minimum of 75% course attendance and passing grades in all four language skills (listening, reading, speaking and writing). The ultimate decision regarding recognition (or non-recognition) of ECTS points (credits) lies with your university’s or institutes’ Study Program Administration [Studienprogrammleitung].
