Target Group
This course is designed for anyone looking to enhance their knowledge of Business Italian. Focusing on practical business communication, the first module offers participants the chance to build an essential specialised vocabulary and develop both written and oral skills for everyday professional scenarios. The course aims to prepare participants for typical business interactions with Italian partners and clients. Its content aligns with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and corresponds to level B1-1 in the context of business communication.
Level
In order to be able to follow this course, it is recommended that participants already understand, speak, and write Italian to A2 level at the beginning of the course.
Content Overview
This course covers a wide range of topics to enhance several business communication skills in Italian. From engaging in professional conversations with business partners and colleagues to navigating common business scenarios such as job interviews, the application process, describing companies and sectors, understanding the main types of Italian businesses, and delivering basic business presentations.
A strong focus on real-world business interactions allows participants to develop key business communication skills, including writing business correspondence (e.g., emails), mastering intercultural communication, engaging in small talk in business contexts, and understanding fundamental business texts and vocabulary. Grammar elements are integrated to support effective communication in these scenarios.
Method
Through interactive communication, the course participants will be encouraged to actively use business Italian in various business contexts. Self-study materials and homework will be suggested/provided. The working language of this course is Italian.
At the end of the course, participants can receive a graded certificate subject to a minimum of 75% course attendance and passing grades in all four language skills (listening, reading, speaking and writing). The ultimate decision regarding recognition (or non-recognition) of ECTS points (credits) lies with your university’s or institutes’ Study Program Administration [Studienprogrammleitung]. 4 ECTS.
