For a small selection of lanugages, we offer our Semi-Intensive Courses which start twice per semester.
- You learn in a group of 10 to 16 participants, online or on-site.
- Course times: twice per week in the evening
- Learning objectives: 1 course phase per course - final exam - 4 ECTS credits

How does it work?
- Please register for two courses of your choice and pay the course fee that applies to you (see also discounts).
- You are free to choose the language and course level as you wish. The date of registration is not decisive.
- You will receive the Combo Candy if you are registered for two Semi-Intensive Courses for Foreign Langauges in the winter semester 2024-25 (course numbers starting with 24W1- and 24W2-) by Decemter 10, 2024.
- You will receive a notification of the cash back option of 50 Euro by e-mail on Dec 11, 2024 at the latest.
This is a bonus promotion programm offered by the Innovationszentrum Universität Wien GmbH. Errors and omissions excepted. Legal recourse is excluded.

Semi-Intensive Courses: online or offline 6,5 weeks
You can choose between offline and online courses.
The offline courses take place at our locations on campus and in the surrounding area.
In our online courses you will communicate live with our experienced and highly-qualified teachers and your course colleagues. The lessons will be just as interactive and comprehensive as our regular courses on campus.
Regular course fee 2024-25: EUR 474 per course
Teaching materials are not included in the course fee. They are available at the bookstore Facultas am Campus.

- for Austrian pupils, students and employees of the University of Vienna aswell as the Medical University: 25%
- for recipients of federal aid for students (at the University of Vienna): 50%
- for members of the Alumni Association of the University of Vienna: 10%

- You will need a device with a microphone, speakers/headphones, a webcam and an (external) keyboard so that you can also perform your written tasks in the best possible way. You will work with word documents and other word-processing programs.
- As virtual classroom, we use the external provider Zoom.

Course phases
The semester course covers 1 course phase.
ECTS_bis September 2024_EN
For a positive transcript, you are awarded ECTS (European Credit Transfer System):
- 2 ECTS for the A1–A2 levels
- 3 ECTS for levels B1 and higher
The decision regarding recognition (or non-recognition) of ECTS points (credits) lies with your university’s or institutes’ Study Program Administration [Studienprogrammleitung].

Prior to course commencement, the Language Center offers assessment tests.
Self-assessment is also possible, based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) level descriptions.
